What is the difference between TurboSFX and InstallConstruct?

TurboSFX creates compressed Self-extracting EXEcutables (SFX) as the file and software delivery front end, which can run multiple setup routines and programs, provide multiple-password protections, but it does not create Setup Wizard, Installer, and Uninstaller. In short, TurboSFX distributes single or multiple files and runs the respective Installer routines.

On the other hand, InstallConstruct creates complete packages and stand alone setup routines, setup wizard, uninstaller, and HTML-based Internet Component Downloads. It can also run setup routines created by others. InstallConstruct is a complete Installer program.

For example, if you have a program that already has a Setup Wizard created, you can use TurboSFX to create the distribution front end. Or, if you have two programs, or one program with two different versions, or in two different languages, you can use InstallConstruct to build each of the full installation routines, Setup Wizards, and uninstallers, then use TurboSFX to create the front end manager so your recipients can install only those components that are desired or permitted by the passwords provided.

We use TurboSFX to split an exe file into pieces. Downloading of the EXE, .002, .003, etc files works as expected. For the 001 file, however, Internet Explorer appends the .ZIP extension, because it determines that the file is a Zip file. This causes the EXE file not be able to recombine the installer that we splitted. Can you tell me how to solve this problem?

That is a new trick IE does to the 001 file. You may use the second Package type (As cab files with extractor) to solve this problem.

I have paid for the Full Licensed copies of TurboSFX. Do I need to purchase Distribution Licenses to distribute the target SFX within and outside my organization?

TurboSFX Full License includes free Distribution License for the target SFX (the SFX files created by you). No additional Distribution License is required to distribute target SFX with your own contents.

Can I run TurboSFX script silently from the Scheduler?

Yes, you can run TurboSFX script silently from the Scheduler by entering "TurboSFX program file" -S "adx file" in the command line.
